Exemplifi conducted an in-depth discovery phase, assessing SacRT’s website, user demographics, and key functional areas like trip planning and real-time updates. Accessibility audits using WAVE and AccessiBe identified issues with color contrast, alt text, and keyboard navigation. Additionally, 381 documents were reviewed in Adobe Acrobat for accessibility compliance.

The team set clear objectives to enhance accessibility, streamline content management, and improve website performance. Key priorities included WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, modernized design, and a more efficient content management process’.
Design
Exemplifi optimized HTML for screen readers, improved color contrast, added alt text, enabled keyboard navigation, and implemented ARIA roles, ensuring accessibility. The redesign integrated Geocode API, Dynamic Maps API, and GeoJSON for trip planning and Park & Ride. A WebOps infrastructure ensured seamless updates, security, and stakeholder training.
